The Mental Health Association in Indian River County is pleased to announce its recent hire of Mary Silva, who will join the MHA team as Development and Special Events Manager at the Walk-In & Counseling Center. Silva will be the lead for the MHA’s 2018 Brew-2-Brew Half Marathon. This event will be the non-profits main fundraiser for 2018; along with the Shamrock Shindig After Party that will follow the run.
Silva is a native Floridian and a graduate of the University of Florida. She started her career by practicing law for fifteen years before she entering the nonprofit world. She comes to the MHA with thirteen years experience as Executive Director in the non-profit industry. This background has helped Silva to make an easy transition into her current position with the MHA.
Mary is “honored to join the Mental Health Association”, an organization committed to excellence with the promise to operate a model agency for mental health care while sustaining a superb staff and facilities and administering the agency to the highest standards of innovation and professionalism.
In addition to her current position, she will also be a contributing member of the Fund Development Committee and the Marketing & Communications Committee.
The Mental Health Association in Indian River County Walk-In Center, located at 820 37th Place, in Vero Beach, offers individuals experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition, free mental health screening, crisis intervention services, and information and/or referral about how to address their mental health issues. The center is open Monday – Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. Psychotherapy, group therapy, case management, and psychiatry services are also available for clients seeking ongoing mental health services on an appointment basis at the center.
