Cultural Calendar November 14-19


The Cultural Council’s Art in Public Places Program presents the abstract works of Greg Ingerson at the Indian River County Courthouse through February 7.  Viewing hours are Monday – Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.


The Sebastian River Art Club is hosting the Sixth Annual “Little Gems” Holiday Show and Sale. The funds raised through the sale of member artists’ small masterpieces will benefit the Ecumenical Council Food Pantry’s Christmas meal program. The opening reception for the fundraising annual event is Thursday, November 15 from 3 to 6 pm at the Sebastian River Art Club, 1245 Main Street, in Sebastian.

Laugh & Learn with Nancy Johnson on Thursday, November 15 at 10:30 am at the North Indian River County Library.  Laughter Wellness Programs are interactive and fun! They are based on laughter activities and educational content, not on jokes. The programs are free and no reservations are necessary.


It’s Art Walk time for November from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, November 16 in downtown Fort Pierce. Seriously Mixed Media, 207 Orange Avenue, presents the artwork of Lori McNamara (at left) whose oil paintings reflect old time Florida beauty. She paints using a painting knife, with rich texture and en plein aire.

The Coral Mermaid Gallery, 8905 North US 1 in Sebastian, is having an opening reception on Friday, November 16 from 4 to 7 pm.  The new exhibit features works by Susan Lavender, Sheila Lougheed, Alex Melo and special guest, Frits Van Eeden.



CENTENNIAL EVENT:   21st Annual Festival of Trees:  November 16-18 – Encompassing the entire Riverside Theatre campus, “Favorite Things,” the Festival ’18 theme, will include the forest of glittering trees at the Children’s Theatre, Hall of Wreaths, Community Song Stage, Santa’s Village in the Live in The Loop area, a Christmas Shoppe, a Winter Gardens area in front of the Children’s Theatre, children’s activities and more to benefit Riverside Theatre Scholarship program.  A Family Night party on the Saturday evening of the Festival will showcase holiday performances, hot chocolate, a synthetic ice skating rink, and gifts for the family.

The Broadway Tenors:  Wednesday, November 14 at 7:30 pm. A thrilling and moving evening of Broadway’s most beloved hits performed by some of Broadway’s best known tenors.  Tickets: $45.  Visit

CENTENNIAL EVENT:  November 17, 4-6 pm: 2nd annual Vero Vino Festival, a fund-raising event to benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County and Little Birthday Angels at the Heritage Center.  Wine, beer, food, live music and silent auction.  For tickets:

The Sebastian River Art Club presents Art By The River, an outdoor art show at Riverview Park in Sebastian, on Saturday, November 17 from 10 am to 4 pm.  Share a delightful day in the park with local artists. Art will be on display and for sale in a wide variety of mediums such as painting, wood, ceramics, photography, 3D, and much more.  Rain date is Sunday, November 18.


Six Monster Piano Concert will be held at Christ by the Sea United Methodist Church on Sunday, November 18 at 3 pm and 7 pm. Pianists Caio Pagano, Kelley Coppage, Joanne Knott, Rochelle Sallee, Jacob Craig, and Marcos Flores will have 60 fingers dancing on 6 grand pianos on one stage performing works by Liszt, Czerny, and many other surprises. Tickets: Adults $25; Children, $10.

Theatre-Go-Round Dinner Theatre presents Sinatra Done Differently – Blue-eyed wonders in 4 part harmony on Sunday, November 18.  Enjoy a fun night out with a gourmet dinner and professional music review located at 17th Street Plaza, 1/2 block west of US on 17th Street in Vero Beach.  Doors  open for dinner at 4:30 with a 6:00 pm performance. Upcoming performances will be on November 25 and December 2 & 9.  All inclusive package is $65 per person.  For reservations, call 772-252-9341.


The Pelican Island Audubon Society is holding a meeting with the topic Spoil Island Bird Usage – Birds in the Indian River Lagoon with Matthew Anderson at the Vero Beach Community Center on Monday, November 19 at 7 pm.  Free.
